Am I right-side up or upside down?

I am a failure at updating this blog. In my defense, I’m in the middle of a very hectic Week 4 of Newhouse BDJ bootcamp — covering stories under tight deadlines, producing radio newscasts, etc. Most of my pieces are posted on I feel like I’ve already improved so much as a journalist in the last 3-4 weeks, and I’m looking forward to the next 17 (?) months. :)

Anyway, to sum up the rest of my life, I’m going to NYC this weekend with my cousins/siblings to celebrate Caleb’s 30th birthday. And also, marathon training is going well. I’ve had to get up by 5:30 or 6am on days that I run (4 runs each week, my long run so far has been 9 miles and I’ll be doing 12 this Saturday). I actually enjoy running in the morning though, and I know if I waited til after class to run I would just talk myself out of it.

The one downside (or upside?) to all this training is that I am THE HUNGRIEST HIPPO. Today, in particular, I felt like I just ate all day long (ran 6 miles, swam half a mile, walked 5ish miles). Oh, and I’m really enjoying swimming — I was very proud of my half mile today! I have terrible form, but I’m trying to improve a little at a time. Also, I know it’s too soon to even entertain the idea, but I would totally love to do a sprint triathlon some day…once I stop flailing around so much in the water…

That’s all. I should really try to update more than once a month, if only to get more familiar with WordPress. ;)
